What a great idea! What a shame we didn't get this with the N6 re-vamp. At least this time we can all speculate with actual pictures. Very Happy Very Happy

Yes. It's George Alagiah who talks to the viewers like they are primary school children.

I have held my silence for 3 days, and now I shall speak my conclusion unto the TV Forum about the new set in N6........

Breakfast looks small, pokey, and cramped. The backdrops on the screen walls looks ridiculous because they're stills: the sky should move instead of fading between images.

Nationals look totally lost in a HUGE space. The stand up area makes the presenters looks like they're wandering around in a warehouse, and the desk set is way too close to the walls, resulting in an almost 2D shot.

The colours are horrible. Why oh why not stick to the red and white of N8, where they've finally got it right. There's far too much orange and blue.

It seems the new N6 set was briefed to be 'flexible', but they've ended up with an awquard area that doesn't provide a decent space or set for any programme.

Moz, any chance of lightening up a little bit? Yaloh was only asking a question - and given the size of this thread, it is quite a valid question. Wouldn't it have been better to guide him to pages containing images, if you know where they are? We're supposed to be a community here and comments like that do not aid cohesion.

Point taken.

Apologies Yaloh.

I've watched for a few days now. It just looks like a cheap copy of Sky and ITN. It really is pretty nasty.
I'm sure it will get better but it also shows up how at easy presenters are at Sky and ITN with looking at their "newswalls".
Awful. Awful. Awful.

I don't quite get how you can say Breakfast can look small, pokey and cramped, while the Nationals are in a huge warehouse space when it's the same studio? I think Breakfast doesn't look cosey enough!

Anyway, I agree with your other points - the desk and sofa are too close to the screens at the back so a) the Breakfast clouds look too pixley, and b) the gaps between the screens and corners make me want to get the polyfiller out. Although the new look is ok (at least its not a newsroom backdrop) it would really help if they could give more depth to the image on screen by pulling the presenters into the centre of the studio more, not stuck in the corners against the walls.

The sky on Breakfast is too blue - even on a fantasic clear day like today its the sky is a paler "sky blue" - not some OTT Royal blue that clashes horribly with the red sofa IMO - or my TV's colour needs adjusting!

Was this the studio used for the Nationals set during the temporary period ? If not what used to be here? Cheers.
