the great big BBC News studio shuffle

I have to say I really like the new look. Much more professional than the previous look and more stylish.

The aston design looks a bit crap here, perhaps they could make the "BBC" logo to the top line where the correspondent name goes and then place a clock at the bottom.

For here, again they could place the "BBC" logo at the top and put a clock at the bottom, because it just looks a bit wrong having a half empty box!

I like the new sweep wipe shots at the end of the titles, looks very nice!
Overall, I really like the new look, although I could suggest a few tweaks here and there as I just mentioned.

I'm looking forward to seeing the graphics and how they conform with the N24 tower & ticker at 18.00 for the '6'. (The '1' simulcast is signed on N24 picture in picture style so graphics are separated)

I think it is obvious that some change to the News 24 studio and graphics will *eventually* be forthcoming to incorporate the look of the nationals more, but the red and black headline slug and overall maintenance red and black theme illustrates the fact that they seem happy to continue with the current setup for some time to come...

I agree that the headline slug just looks silly with the BBC at the bottom and nothing in the top, also the two tone on it doesn't work too well. The normal Astons are okay though.

The background is just odd, your never quite sure if it's just your eyes going slighty mad or not, it's all disjointed, less obvious about the screens than on breakfast this morning though, I think the more flat solid colour makes the different squares more obvious.

I don't like the fact the presenter is standing and walking about at the beginning - its seems uncomfortable, especially for BBC. ITV News studio is adapted, what with the specified walkway etc but there's something that isn't the same for the new BBC studio.

That aside, the new look is fresh i suppose. This all goes towards Thompson's digital revamp then.

Yeah I noticed this too, all part of the "cubism" effect going on all over the background.

And I agree some of the wondering does look a little forced. The Morning News summaries (video here) had Darren standing walking 2 steps then stopping again just looked daft.

I think the studio looks a bit like Channel 4 News.
