Interesting to see the usual Weather introduction ('sponsored by the MET Office') at the end of the bulletin. Interesting to note they used the "weather window" only on the wide-shot (and at the end as I've mentioned). Did anyone else notice the 'sweep' effect aswell?

I'm loving the new set. The titles and graphics are so much clearer (but the BBC logo isn't centred correctly on the astons but that's a minor thing). Good job.

Overall, I'm much more impressed with the new look for the 1 O' Clock than I was for Breakfast.

Agreed. It's better suited to this more formal bulletin.

Would second caveats re: semi-opaque subtitle strapline being difficult to read and having Darren Jordan wandering around a la ITV.

I thought an aston was a rather nice expensive car favoured by Clarkson et al.

What is it in respect to news presentation?

Slang for the graphics that come across the screen (ie. David Cameron). (AFAIK it's actually a company name).

Sorry, Jordon . I did notice the changing weather graphic positioning across the different shots, but was less impressed - it's a bit disorientating, a bit clever

Agreed. The One much much better than Breakfast. Loving the astons, hope they do something similar on News 24 for Live/location graphics, and make the N24 titles shiny to match!

The floor needs some work though - it's all scratched and marked. Very noticable at the start.

It's the name given to the on-screen graphics featuring reporters' names, headlines, etc.. Technically it's a brand name, but it's become used as a generic term (rather like Hoover, Jacuzzi, or for Alan Partridge fans, Tannoy).

Anyone having any trouble playing the latest 1pm news on the bbc news player? Just says "This program has ended". Could it be there are too many people try to watch it??

And in the US there are more commonly referred to as Chyron's, again a company name.

Overall I don't think that it's a great improvement on what they already had. The two-line headline bug looks poor as it is at the moment with a transparent top line and solid lower line. The opening news wall shot also made Darren look really short.

IIRC from that Stars In Fast Cars thing they did for comic relief, he *IS* short. That would probably have something to do with it
