We got a glimpse on the early morning bulletin of what the nationals may look like, and I must say the London skyline works very well.

If you are in London. Ok, the news is being broadcast from there, but it just highlights how London-centric the editorial content of the news seems to be I think.

From what I could make out, it wasn't easily identifiable as a London skyline. I certainly couldn't see Canary Wharf, the London Eye or St Paul's Cathedral. It could easily be a skyline anywhere in the UK.

True enough - we'll have to wait and see - not long until 1pm!

I think they're pointing it the other way, because in the next few years all you'd see behind them is cranes because London is getting at least 3-4 tall skyscrapers between now and 2012.

You are absolutely right, I can see how annoying that can be if you live in other regions. But I suppose London is very recognisable as the capital with lots of striking, iconic buildings. It might be an aesthetic thing as well.

Just noticed on the latest daytime bulletin, they're using a lovely swirly globe transition between each of the stories. Clearly the work of the aforementioned Fab Filter.

(Edit: God it's depressing watching daytime BBC One. What is their obsession with Lorne 'Bride Of Chucky' Spicer?)

I guess the sunrise shots are sync'd to when the sunrise actually happens which obviously at the moment is before 6am!

Loving the re-jigged titles (apart from the little dodgy "NEWS" not being the right size Laughing ). The animation off the titles into the moving shot to the presenters looks really excellent. And thank goodness the white titles have been dropped in favour of the much better wide shot / keyed on caption.

The only problem with Breakfast is going into South East Today which now looks like it's completely washed out compared to those bright, bold colours from N6.

Look North (NE&C) obviously hadn't been told about the new look. They were still proudly displaying the old Breakfast logo on their big screen this morning.

Is this normal pratcice? Could the BBC not just pay her by BACS instead?

I absolutely love those new Astons - at last we've got rid of the awful mess we had before. Excellent work, although slightly reminiscent of Channel 4 News' previous look.

The head of BBC News did say a while ago that he wanted on-screen graphics to match across channels, so I wonder if there'll be a change on News 24 to match soon.

OOYA. They did send them through the fab filter. Although not as fab as the uberslick more4 intro, it's very nice.

However they still have that godawful headline bed they keep restarting.

Right well as the infamous "tvf kaboom" page keeps appearing, I'll comment on the graphics in here too. They're great.

I love the simple wipe on a live, and the location aston is very nice. The grey is also rather pleasing. It's nice to see a slug that looks like it was designed and not just vomitted on screen.

Oh that headlines swoopy thingy is stunning. They totally should use that for the TOTH.
