Sorry about the fact the audio's slightly out.

Isn't it supposed to change, day in, day out, somewhat connected to the weather?

Certainly not based on the current weather in the North East then... Look North had a remark about the new set... the quayside shot they use is so much better. Pity it's oh-so-grey today.

My jaw hit the floor when I saw it!
I've heard of cost cutting, but that's a shambles. If money was so tight, why not just simulcast N24?

Unfriendly, cold, clinical, clash of colours, weird wallpapered nonsense. Exactly what a breakfast audience DON'T want to wake up too.

Can't wait for the viewing figures.

Slightly odd thing in this capture:

Whats the old News 24 clock doing there?

The corners look awful, and the way the panels are soooo obvious. The clouds don't even animate, they just fade from one still to another. And the expanses of grey. Urghhh! 4/10.

yes, now onto business...
as I was actually right with my blue prediction this time, can I get a Breakfast mug?

I think that the handovers might look nicer if they shrunk the image slightly ala

I am sure the set will be tweaked over the comming weeks. The clouds are not the only background to be used on Breakfast, as was shown in the preview just before 8. I half expect that if viewers take a dislike to the clouds they will be swiftly dropped. I would half expect Breakfast to then use the same skyline as the other national bulletins.

Couldn't agree more. As others have already said, that background looks like a montage of pieces of cardboard bodged together (badly). When I first turned it on this morning I thought it had been hastily put together as a temporary studio.

Two guests on the show have already made a joking remark about this being a temporary set! Oh dear...

Are the One and Six desks different sizes? Yes I know the Six desk has the red bit on it but the desk top looks bigger and more oval.

*THAT'S* N6? Where did all that space come from?

When you go for smaller projectors you gain more space... By using a lot of small projector cubes (which are relatively shallow - and use folded mirrors to make them even shallower) you can put the set walls much closer to the real studio walls. Result - a lot more floor space - though at a price. (Lots of projector cubes cost more than a couple of large projectors - though because the cubes are smaller, they are brighter and they can be sharper)

It's all done with mirrors

There are no mirrors on the new set - that's N6!

There are mirrors on the new set - but they are very thin slivers in the corners, hiding the wall joins. If you look carefully you can see them on some of the Breakfast shots.
