The mini-tour Sian has just done has shown you most of the main changes - quite quick but if you go back and freeze frame it you will see one of the new backgrounds for the nationals, as well as an idea of what the screens will be used for during the other bulletins. The titles aren't that different .. I like the idea that they've been put through a *fab* filter Laughing

Here's some behind the scenes action; might they have just given us a sneak preview of the 6pm news?

Here's the video that appeared on Breakfast.

Curiously, the titles at 8 were slightly different - the BBC NEWS logo had News in mixed-case Swiss, and slightly taller than the BBC blocks.

Is this perhaps a clue that the titles are now TOG-generated? I can't think of any other reason why there would two different versions...

I like the 'sunrise' background (as seen in the mini-tour). Pity they're not using it today.

Loving the way the nationals may turn up. Fantastic breakfast music too. I cant believe how big the set is compared to the box before!

Interesting to note the desk does move about within that report, from one corner to another and centrally.

Not sure about the cloudy background. The way it looks like it's made up of lots of squares of cardboard just looks a bit, well...naff I think, it'd be alright if the square effect wasn't there.

Anyway, more captures and video here:

That's my feeling on it too - it looks like a badly wallpapered room, particularly in the corners behind the sofa.

Looks like a London skyline for the Nationals then Rolling Eyes

So it looks like the London skyline will be the new backdrop for the main BBC News bulletins. From those caps, it looks very nice. Although it also shows the orangey sunrise backdrop, why wasn't that used on Breakfast - it would have been nicer than the blue and the white clouds.

Botched wallpapering, anyone?

Isn't it supposed to change, day in, day out, somewhat connected to the weather?
