Is it impossible for any of you to glean any information? "whitecity" posted that it was NOT going to be chrome. I'd seriously suggest we all take a good few minutes to look back at what's posted.

How's that video wall work? Back projection or is it a plasma or something? Is this what N6 will have?

We're not about to give the game away at this late stage now, are we?!

What was that system the Grandstand studio used to have where the glass behind Des could be changed to be either transparent or show an image or video?

IIRC it's the same type of LED screen as the Sky News Newswall, made by Barco.

From the hints and clues given, I'd be surprised if we don't see one of these now - although probably not on the scale of Sky's.

I think you mean Clever Glass which Five news currently use in their studio. I think thats been ruled out as being used in the new set, I think

Did Grandstand do that? I remember Sky News did that and I did email Jeremy Thompson about it and he read it out on air, he still didn't answer the bloody question though. Smile

But I found out eventually how it worked when the screen changed one day from a backdrop to a clear screen. Very clever technology whoever designed it.

I recall Going Live doing a feature from there with Steve Rider demonstrating how the background changed. When it was clear it showed the production team getting scores etc, or could be made to show an animation as I remember it

Absolutely right - used during the globe era between 1992 and 1997 for all all studio-based BBC Sport broadcasts. Shame its not being used for the 'evolutionary' new studio - it adds great versatility.
