Surely the thunderclap at the start of 1/6/10 has nothing to do with the studio. It's simply odd as you're used to the lighter thunderclap of News 24 after that countdown. The only way sound could be different is possible variations of acoustics when the presenters talk from the different studio, something I haven't noticed to be honest.

No doubt all these tentatively asked questions are quite irritating for those in the know (or secretly rather satisfying...), but to ask another, could the new set be very generally described as more 'traditional' than the current look? Traditional in the Lambie Nairn honest materials sense rather than wishy washy perspex TV-look sense?
No doubt that's also too much to ask, so I'll just say thanks for reading anyway and roll on next Tuesday Very Happy

No, I'm used to hearing the 1/6/10 thunderclap from the N6 gallery which sounded fine. This thunderclap is - I presume - from the gallery of the temp studio, different from the N6 one.

Just another bit of randomness that has just struck me, and i will throw it into the mix. I have just seen the This Week Advert on BBC1 (Stay with me!), and it has just struck me they have a new desk/coffee table (I thought something was different when i saw the programme last Thursday).

The advert shows the old one which was a mini replica of the national news desk, the new one is still round and small, but had a band around the middle that is red like the news 24 red, there was a red ring around the top and the centra part was see through, although it looked to have been lit somehow with a purple hue, so could this hint at the new desk for the new national news set?

I await your ridicule, and stress this is just a random thought i would share!

Words I would use to describe it... fresh, clean, impressive.
Not over radical, but different.

I'd add modern and flexible as well - a certain bit of it looks amazing in real life.

Hardly ringing endorsement Nicky!

Can anyone at least say whether or not this blue rumour is true - come on, it's going to be shown tomorrow on Breakfast so it's hardly a state secret!

I think you're more likely to see lots of the old sets on Breakfast tomorrow.
