I didn't know that changes were on their way, so I'm so pleased to read the above posts to see that I'm not going mad thinking how shockingly pale and old Huw Edward's has been looking all week (thanks to the lighting)!

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but does the new set mean new music and opening titles etc too? Will it be a radical new look or just a refresh?

Considering it will be a totally new set I would have thought it would include new titles etc, but the BBC seem to prefer doing things in stages rather than all at the same time Rolling Eyes

3. After Breakfast, what else is put in that space as I was led to believe that all the other TC7 programmes are in TC11?

At the moment, during the week only the Breakfast and National News come from the same studio, so there is no need to move the Breakfast set during the week.

As has been pretty widely reported, Breakfast will be sharing the National News studio, not the Working Lunch/Newsround/Newsnight studio, after the revamp, so they will both move out when the nationals studio re-opens, leaving an empty studio, which in turn can be revamped.

I was going to say, have those up top finally realised that TOG is just a tiny bit unreliable at times.

REally? When. In my experience TOG is very reliable compared to many broadcast systems. Of course if a camera breaks in N8 the viewer is usually unaware, TOG's not that simple. Perhaps if those up top invested in redundancy (equipment, not staff), there'd be less problems?

I doubt that. I think that they will keep the same titles (to stay in line with NEWS 24) and the graphics were only updated within the last 2 months! And if you remember, when they changed to the set we've got currently back in 2003, they kept the "cream" titles for a whole year, even though they didn't go at all!

I imagine the new studio will be a bit more like News24 in design i.e. more perspex etc. I also don't imagine that the titles will change, and if they do, it'll be ribbon style most likely.

I was thinking why revamp the studios when they will be moving to Broadcasting House?

Although the move for News should begin at the end of 2008, it won't be complete until 2010. That would be a long time to go without a revamp.

Because this now probably won't happen until 2010- it's entirely reasonable to refresh into a new studio for 4 years.

I think News 24 will be allowed one more minor refresh in a year or two (perhaps just one of either the left or right pod areas) before moving to the new BH.

It was all just a bit of harmless fun - caption competition.
