I just hope they make as good a job as they did with the N24 set.

So is Breakfast definitely moving into N6 at the end of all of this?

Is N6 much bigger than we see on screen? ie will they be doing structural work to extend the studio itself to provide space for Breakfast as has been suggested, hence making work take longer "than you may expect"?

Not much bigger than you can see on screen. Only space for the cameras and a small green screen area opposite the desk, then there is space behind the set for projection distances, and that is it.

Wonder what is being gutted to allow the studio to be expanded?

As marski has said this is not a small, do it in a weekend, project - you will see programmes in temporary homes while it happens - but sets can move Wink

Breakfast with Frost was done from the TOTP studio once wasn't it?

I thought that after all of the changes, Breakfast would be permanently in N6 with the nationals so that the gallery staff in TC7 wouldn't be needed until around 10.00 for Working Lunch.

One date I heard was April, though in the Breakfast thread someone mentioned that don't expect a new set for Breakfast until the end of the summer. I think we can therefore say that the changes will take place sometime by the end of the summer.

Someone also asked what will be removed from N6 for the new set and I think that the giant screens and the backdrop projection will be removed, though this is only a guess.

Out of interest why move TC7 programmes to TC11 and then N6 to TC7? Why not just move the nationals in N6 to TC11?

In one word - The Gallery. Remember Breakfast will come from TC7 during the moves as normal as it only takes up half the set. As will the national news set!

Could the change of studios be taking place during one of the Bank Holdiay weekends approaching? This will give both teams an extra day or two to move the sets, without it affecting the output too much. I take it both the Politcs Show and Sunday AM will also be moving studios, but are these going to be treated to a more versatile set too?

I think what's being hinted at is that it won't take a weekend, I think it'll be a News 24 set-up which was moved for some weeks during the relaunch..

I am not talking about changes of SETS but changes of STUDIOS, which will take a weekend.

April 10th is when the presenter reshuffle takes place at News 24 and the 1 and 6 begin to be simulcast.

I don't mean "set-up" in the set sense, I'm implying arrangements, using the CSO temporarily.

How does this save money though? Won't a seperate gallery crew be needed in N6?
