There was quite a nice pullout shot at the end of the six update - much further than they ever used to. Showed that they've built the set again quite nicely, even though it does look like its all in CSO.

Aww, I know you're trying to make it look like it's still in N6 but can't you have some gorgeous sweep shots, now you've got those free cams from Breakfast?

I think the "CSO" effect is because they're very much lit from above and the front, with less from behind giving quite a harsh outline. No doubt they'll sort it out as it does look very off, needs to be softend just a little.

The screen also seem slightly further away from the desk as it use to be, presumably theres more room to stand now. The floor, I guess from my previous comments it "painted" wood rather than lino now.

Overall not a bad move, but if people (public) doesn't notice the new studio, I think they will notice the lighting, my mother did.

One thing I did notice and it may be me, but it seems as if George was straining a little to read the autoque, are the cameras further back than they were now?

But very nice to see nothing was broken and its all moved safely, just tweak the lighting and it'll be like nothings changed.

Ah, that makes sense now - it certainly does look painted if you think about it. Could the old floor possibly going to be used in the new set and so they havent moved it.

Also is the new set not going to have any projectors in it, because surely if they are all in use in TC7 then they can't use them as they build the new set. Unless they move them over the day of the relaunch, or 'shock horror', they spend some money and buy some new ones.

The colouring/brighness in the red perspects seems a bit odd, there is also a huge dark line down the mirror on the right side of the set, which wasnt so obvious before.

Lighting, um... Im sure they will sort it. The floor has to be painted... its different to the other bits of the set, like has already been pointed out.

The left screen wasnt used at all in the one... so was this because it wasnt ready? It looks ......closer to the desk than it used to be.

What do you all mean the floor is 'painted'?
How the heck do you paint a wooden floor?!

Bail has hit it there about the lighting - way too much from directly overhead. It looks like they're sitting beneath a fluorescent tube 6 inches above their heads - George's shiny head in particular showing it up. It's like the effect you get in a domestic room standing directly underneath a pendent fitting - all his upper-facing features are burning up:

The newsreaders need to be lit much more from the front and to a lesser extent from the rear, though the backlighting does seem to be better on Six than One. It seems they've just blasted a bunch of softboxes directly down on them in the desk area. It's more directional elsewhere in the studio.

I would like to see an esoteric commentator sitting in the corner, giving his views as we go along.

Like Jacques "Jacques" Liverot on The Day Today.

You put down a base colour, and then add the grain in a darker colour over the top. Blend them together a bit and you have an instant wooden effect floor. Similar to a marbling paint effect really.

He means a concrete floor is painted to look like planks of wood. Not difficult to do, and it will only be as detailed as it need be to show up on camera. I think it is probably vinyl flooring again as it would be faster to do, and probably cheaper than a scenic artist.

Well fluorescent light it certainly isn't, otherwise we wouldn't be seeing all these shadows.

I suspect they are using larger 5Kw fresnels in this temp studio, as opposed to high frequency fluorescent softlights. Would I be right in assuming TC11 has a much higher rig?

If they didn't have so many reflective and shiny surfaces in the set they could have used some floor stands with softlights on them to fill the creases out.
