The newsround studio is smaller, and a bit darker I think.

Yes, they've also lost that stupid multicolour light panel which used to hang from the ceiling. Thank goodness, it was crap.

Don't know whether Ellie has been on the tanning bed either but her face seems quite oddly orange and dark. Heyho. [But surely the little kiddies wouldn't notice anything at all?]

Argghhh - the lighting!!! THE LIGHTING!!!

The left screen seems to be at an extremely unusual angle as well, almost as if the rear edge of it is jutting out into the set, away from the wall behind it. Looks bizarre.

Well the left screen is there aswell, but must say that light is far to bright especially with the desk being white aswell I also noticed that the floor looks diffrent off of the part were the desk is. So has this studio being built over the 4 days or being constructed for ages then in the 4 space time they have moved the desk into the studio ??

Edit: They most probably made the papers yellow because if they were white you wouldn't notice there was papers there! Laughing

Forgive me, but is this the same studio News 24 de-camped to during their re-fit? It's just I remember the lighting being similarly harsh when they were in their CSO home.

No, that was a CSO set in TC11(?) - the set is now in TC7 - the old L&K studio which Breakfast and Newsnight use.

News 24 went to TC10.

The two-shot looked very odd - then the wide after the titles looked even worse. Natasha had a dirty great shadow behind her. George meanwhile was on wrinklyvision. Back to Natasha and her shadow, and then a tight shot of her at the screen.

And the rear edge does jut out into the set - it's just not usually seen from that kind of perspective.

The sets' held up well considering the move. It was never designed to be struck and rebuilt. They normally bash the things about when they shift them.

I rather like Natasha's shadow on the floor. It's clearly added for dramatic emphasis, and looks kinda good, if a bit distracting for a news bulletin admittedly...

Thanks. I had a feeling I was wrong.

I notice the red panels look far more glassy in the new lighting, plus the screens are more useless. I'm still waiting to see the other side of the set with this "jutting out" business

Yes the floor does look different - though considering that the lino must have been glued down in N6, presumably they've had to invest in new lino for this temporary set? Hence it doesn't quite match the original on the raised platform?

Also just wondering, did the vertical part of the step of that dais/platform ever illuminate? It looks like its faced in perspex, and that it should light up...
