Are they only using 3 cameras for this set, or was that just the limitations of the One? And have they built the left side of the set, or have they just moved the one side that we saw today?

I suppose they must have constructed the other side. Otherwise at 6pm, both presenters will have to sit on the right hand side of the desk, which could be a bit cramped. I may be proved wrong though!
Is that it? Is that what we were waiting for? Please tell me there will be some other change soon.
Yes, the lights will get so bright that in June 2006, she will turn into Sophie Raworth.
It looks more like she's turning into Mother Theresa - those bright lights do nothing for her wrinkles.
Good Lord! I know it is only temporary, but that lighting set-up really has been thrown together. It's terribly harsh, and at the presenter position seems to have been set almost directly above Anna Ford's head. The resulting shadows make her look ghastly, poor woman!

Forgive me, but is this the same studio News 24 de-camped to during their re-fit? It's just I remember the lighting being similarly harsh when they were in their CSO home.

No, that was a CSO set in TC11(?) - the set is now in TC7 - the old L&K studio which Breakfast and Newsnight use.
Newsnight though is moving to TC11

Newsnight's set won't look hugely different tonight - although I think it has lost the overhead bits (TC11 isn't very tall), and I
think
the main desk may be a little smaller.
Oh they've moved the set. I thought they were doing a temp studio like they had when the gallery flooded the last time. I suppose that makes sense, I suppose they dismantled the old big screens from BBC3 and moved them elsewhere by now
Nonetheless it really goes to show just how much we don't appreciate good lighting on news. The hallmark of all good lighting is that we don't even realise that a subject is being lit, and this is exactly what we normally get with BBC News, Nationals in particular. Beautifully soft, muted illumination - you wouldn't think there's so much as a 60w bulb directed at the newsreaders:
...with exaggerated backlighting the hallmark of all dodgy lighting schemes.
Still, it is only temporary so is to be expected to a certain degree. Just peg up a couple of sheets of trace and it'll be grand Well done set construction for getting it moved in time. So how long exactly did it take - two days? Sat and Sun?
That light bulb does nothing for Annas lines Anyway one thing thats changed of course in this makeshift set is the papers are yellow not white, theres something!
