Is that it? Is that what we were waiting for? Please tell me there will be some other change soon.
What exactly were you expecting?

As I said in the first post of this thread, the initial change was just to vacate N6 so that a new set could be built in there, and that's pretty much all that's happened.

I noticed on Breakfast this morning that the two picture panels on the main presenter two-shot still isn't lined up correctly - I thought that not moving the set around every day would give them a chance to fix that.
(Oh, and also, Moira's island has gone, and she seemed to be doing her bulletins from the main Nationals desk, but with a wishy-washy white background on the projectors)

Keep up! They've moved the entire set from its existing home to a new studio. The idea is 99.9% of viewers won't notice the difference. Indeed the only thing that gives it away is the slight difference in lighting.

So we see the new Newsnight set tonight?
When will the national news get a new set?

Read the thread! It's the old set moved to another studio, so that a new set can be built on the permanent nationals studio. The lighting change is just a result of the temporary move of the set... it's inevitable it wont be 100% the same.

oh yes, that lighting is far superior. I presume Newsnight will be the only *interesting* studio we get as the rest of them will essentially look the same (bar the better lights) until we see the new sets.
Newsnight's set won't look hugely different tonight - although I think it has lost the overhead bits (TC11 isn't very tall), and I think the main desk may be a little smaller.
