Someone may know the answer to this - was the Granada Blackburn base merely a regional news office, similar to the Lancaster office at Whitecross? Or did it serve some other purpose at all please?

Yes Blackburn was a regional news office just like Chester and Lancaster. It opened in 1991.

Occasionally they would do a slot going to all the regional offices in the Granada Region.

Yes Blackburn was a regional news office just like Chester and Lancaster. It opened in 1991.
