Granada Reports

Fred was fantastic. Explaining the weather in a way thats intersting and understandable. GREAT!!

Another great forcast there from Fred.
I like the way he introduces the weather, last week on GMTV local news, Fred started by saying :
"Good Morning, hope you had a really nice sleep.", it is different and sounds better (from Fred), than the usual "Good Morning"

So can we expect any changes at Granada tomorrow?

Granada isn't changing at all, unless their presentation is updating with ITV News?

Nothing will be changing regionwide apart from Meridian who will have new images on the opening titles.

Hopefully we will see some new images/presentation tomorrow.

Nothing was mentioned on tonight's edition, although I really doubt there will be a new look at all, as said the only Regions getting a "new look" are those with the merging sub regions, ie Meridian and Thames Valley.

Slightly OT, but has anyone else noticed that Gamal Fumbeleh seems to have the longest sign-off's on the Granada News bulletins, he's a good presenter but he says goodbye at least 5 times at the end of the show.

" That's it for now, I'll be back in an hour, but now it is back to GMTV in London, for now enjoy the morning, I'll see you later, Bye for now, have a good one, see you soon, Goodbye"

OT, the only main change I know of, is that the weekend lunchtime bulletins are being axed for all regions. I usually enjoy them bulletins.

Yes Gamal is noted for his long goodbyes and funnily enough he shakes his head after he has said it too.

Fred's fantastic! Unlike many of the other weather presenters (particularly BBC ones), Fred doesn't try to blind us with a load of technical jargon - he just gives the weather to us straight in an accessible manner. He obviously loves what he's doing and his enthusiasm really does show. I'd have him doing the weekday forecasts too!

No major changes to Granada today, apart from the weather. I noticed that on the 15:55 weather updte, there was a small bar at the bottom, with small summaries of the weather.

Why would there be any changes to Granada? That the regional changes and ITV News presentation changes happened on the same day is purely coincidental. And Granada is not affected by the regional cutbacks either.
