Yeah I would say longer, been doing it since Scott and Glen switched to Century
They do it around 1740 and has featured in the show certainly when Lorna Bancroft co-presented with Glenn Hunt and I'm pretty sure it featured when the show was Glenn Hunt and Scott Hughes.
Just before te call, Glenn plays the old blue and yellow square era Granada Report sting. Seriously, it has been a feature of drive time on century/real for best part of 2 years if not longer.

Does anyone know if the trails they do at 5.30pm and 5.55pm are live or pre-recorded? I've always assumed they're pre-recorded and its possible they've just broadcast an outtake instead of the proper one (catch it on +1). Tony was in stitches at the Blackpool fracking story and Lucy almost went too.

I've always thought these things were live. In fact, there's a YouTube clip floating around somewhere of a trail which went wrong, where the presenters are looking at the camera, waiting for the cue, but they don't get it, so they just stare at the camera, waiting. At the end of the time for the trail, one of the presenters begin to, presumably, say 'Can I ask why we're appearing on the live monitor?' Or something to that effect.

She's not. She's a Liverpool fan. But all Liverpool fans will be happy to see United end the season trophy-less.
They did the same last year for the Manchester United parade. The sports presenter did really well co-hosting the programme, would be interesting to see if that would translate to a regular edition. Lucy couldn't have made it more obvious she's a City fan

An excellent Granada Reports tonight, breaking from the standard format and focussing entirely on the Hillsborough story. Lucy Meacock presented from the vigil in Liverpool with Tony Morris also presenting from the studio in Manchester. Special titles and graphics were used to introduce various reports and the programme closed with 'You'll Never Walk Alone' over a moving montage of the photographs of the 96 who died.
They really pull out all the stops for stories like this - hopefully no further cutbacks to news will be made in the near future. The special programme has been uploaded to the Granada website.

I didn't watch but their extended specials are usually brilliant. That is why I really hope ITV backtrack on their plans to integrate the regional news into the national news. Some of the other regions might not be great but Granada Reports is brilliant when it wants to be (and also won a BAFTA a few years back) so it would be a shame for it to be relegated to an 'in other news' segment lasting about 15-20 minutes. That said, Granada Reports does seem to be one of the very few regional programmes ringfenced from any structural changes.

The only other changes on the other programmes includes the proposed reintroduction of a 30 minute Central News East programme, and a change in TT&B similar.
