I stumbled across this via Facebook, but it appears there's a ITV News/Granada Reports Isle of Man News on Demand service available on a site called Manx Tube....

http://www.manxtube.com/users/pmctv

and also an amateurish looking site at....

www.itv.im

Granted the IoM doesn't get much of a mention on Granada, but it's nice to see that this kind of regional service does exist and that it isn't all confined to itv.com.

I saw the last few seconds of Granada Reports tonight and it ended at 6.25ish I guess because they wanted to put a few ads in before the main news etc, however the thing that got me was at the end Tony and Lucy said "that's it from us now over to the national news" and then said "we will see you soon". This seemed a bit odd to me as normaly they just say "good night" not sure if they were going for a new style or something.

Does anybody know if this Friday, December 23rd is the last Granada Reports from Quay Street? It was said a year ago that Granada News would be coming from Media City UK from Jnauary 2012 and as we all know, that is just two weeks away.

I am surprised there has been no mention of this, especially as Granada has been at Quay Street for many years, albeit news was from Liverpool as well.

Maybe the plans have changed, does anybody know?

Also will we see a complete overhaul or just a view of The Quays rather than Manchester in the background?

Where has it been said that they'd be coming from MediaCity from January? I remember it being gradually through 2012 and 2013, when the new Coronation Street set would be ready. Nothing has also been said over the network programmes they make at Quay Street, notably Jeremy Kyle, Countdown and University Challenge. I think it would have been said if they're leaving Quay Street by now, quite a big thing really.

Just thought I would ask, does any other region read out the new website address like this "itv.com/news/granada" ?? It does my head in as on screen it still says "itv.com/granada" and the way the talk about it is as if it's another site from the old one.

Lucy Meacock was doing a telephone call with Glen on Home Time on Real Radio yesterday at around this time, advertising what was coming up on Granada Reports. Is this a regular thing now? I'm listening to see if it's on again.

EDIT: Yep, Tony is on right now. Must be a new thing. I haven't listend to Real Radio in a while so I wouldn't know.

Not a new thing. They've been doing it atleast 18 months if not for 2 years.

I've been listening to the Home Time show for the past 2 years and didn't hear them do it once.

I remember listening to Century/Real NW in 2003 and they had Tony Morris on the phone, so it's nothing new, I guess it's just something they do from time to time. They probably didn't do it all when Channel M was at it's peak a few years ago, but I guess it doesn't matter now.

They do it around 1740 and has featured in the show certainly when Lorna Bancroft co-presented with Glenn Hunt and I'm pretty sure it featured when the show was Glenn Hunt and Scott Hughes.

Just before te call, Glenn plays the old blue and yellow square era Granada Report sting. Seriously, it has been a feature of drive time on century/real for best part of 2 years if not longer.
