It is a great shame and another landmark reached in the neverending march to a unified, bland, corporate ITV identity - but wasn't there always something slightly counter-intuitive about having the building you're actually broadcasting from in the back-drop of your studio? I know it's a backdrop and not a window, but it didn't make logical sense on some level.
Sad day for Granada Studios, due to 'health and safety' the legendary Granada TV lights (the one you see in the background of every Granada News bulletin) have had to be removed after 55 years of service...
