So after watching tonights edition of Granada Reports, whats the chance that some of the staff involved couldn't turn into work today? They didn't do a bad job of it either, considering all they talked about was the Snow.

And tonight was possibly the first time, for a long time we heard Fred say "And what have we got for tonight? Well.." without being interrupted by the sponsor and straight into the forecast.

Definitely. I live and work rather close to the studios and for once it actually is as bad as they're making out. Having the roof garden as a recognisable Granada Reports set' is a good thing and was a great idea whoever suggested that. But most likely they were forced to do it because it would be easier with one camera and one light, rather than stretching limited staff over a whole studio. Tony was obviously stranded too.

Yeah I thought that looked odd when they had to fit Lucy and Fred onto the one shot with Fred looking in the other direction. Even Lucy said on air Thanks to the men who helped her push her car down Water St, which I do believe is right by Granada Studios.

Interesting to see who presents the 10.30pm tonight, I can't see Lucy hanging round that late if she's got to get back to Chester.

Kate Giffard presented the 10.30pm slot. Lucy did say at the end that she was making her way home, hope her car started..

What was the point of having a trail for ITV News at 6:30 at 6:28pm? They showed that, read about three e-mails and went to ITN, a bit of odd timing there.

Did anyone catch last night's Granada News after ITV News at Ten?
Massive problems.
The astons went horribly wrong. The first report wouldn't show. And astons whizzed all over the screen.
For some time Lucy Meacock was strapped with "RICKY HATTON Former world boxing champion"
The last package - about Manchester City beating United - was obviously pulled to make up for the time lost due to the cock-ups earlier.
Then the weather ended and it stuck on a frame of the weather sting for ages. The sponsor's bit at the end of the weather wasn't shown at all.
If anyone captured it, it would be appreciated.

Granada Weather is currently sponsorless RB, all we get now is the normal ITV News style Weather sting.

Yes poor Lucy didn't get the chance to say goodbye last night.

I thought once again she handled it very well.

That is twice recently there have been problems and on a Tuesday night on both occasions.

We are sponsorless at the moment, to begin with they still did the weather on Granada Reports as if there was still a sponsor by saying "and now the weaher", however they have stopped doing that now.

I remember in 1995 after Legal & General stopped the sponsorship Granada played a brief tune and showed different shots of the region, landmarks etc, I wonder how long they will remain sponsorless?

Haven't really seen too much Granada Reports since the change to yellow, but just watching it now and the studio looks brilliant during the standing up parts. Some really good story graphics too - my only complaint is the rubbish titles, which ITV have never really been able to get right ever since they started the consistent looks across the regions.

Most regions had very nice titles until Granada got their sticky fingers on them, so it's rather ironic to blame the current blandness on ITV's Granada-led conglomeration! Shocked
