Its unreal if anyone can deny that Granada covers Liverpool and Manchester equally. Manchester is much more prominent, and as someone who lives in Manchester I'm not too bothered about that. But if the shoe was on the other foot I would be very annoyed. There are rarely Liverpool stories, maybe 2-3 per episode at a push.
The weather forecast had to be abandoned in tonight's Granada Reports due to a technical problem - the weather segment starts at 26:13 on the video at itv.com/granada/fullprogramme, where the programme was uploaded with the problems left intact. (Despite an assurance that they would try to tell us about the weather if they could, the forecast didn't return and the emails continued to the end of the programme.)

Im surprised no one has noticed, but Granada Reports are using the old Central Tonight seating. You will notice they are larger than the old ones.
The seating is the same as always - it has simply been recovered and moved closer together to bring Granada into line with the rest of the itv regions.
For all those who think there is a disparity between the treatment of areas within the Granada region, may I point out that Granada does not dictate where the news happens or when - they simply respond and cover it. The main Granada office is in Manchaster, but there are still staff memebers working out of the Liver Building - now their Liverpool base. Of course, resources are finite and decisions are made on a case-by-case basis on the stength and type of the story. It is impossible to cover everything everyday within just 30 minutes.
As for those who doubt information I post, I respond simply...I know, because I work there.
