On Sky, it took till Friday lunchtime before the island switched to Granada.

So Granada's big Manx launch was missed by the island's viewers who watch through Sky. Eighty-two per cent of homes in the island have satellite, so that was probably quite a lot.

Oh dear. That was unfortunate - does it take a long time to switch the postcode mapping over or was Sky forgotten about, I wonder?

I'm not sure how the mapping works, whether each viewing card needs to be accessed by over air signal, or (more likely) there's a look up table of PIDs that every card/box refers to determine Ch 101/102/103/104 etc mapping.

A couple of years ago C4 moved Oxfordshire from the Midlands macro region, to the South & East one.
Sky sent a letter to all Sky+ subscribers in the affected postcode areas warning them that any C4 recordings set would be lost, and require to be set again. It's likely if they didn't warn the IOM Sky+ subscribers, they too would have lost any Border ITV recording settings after Friday Mad

I'm glad someone uploaded this funny moment to YouTube. During a Granada Reports weather forecast in late August, Fred Talbot accidentally swallowed a fly! I saw it live at the time and was in stitches, but sadly had no way of capturing/uploading it. Without further ado, here's the clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uS4kNReisk Laughing

Speaking of Fred, does anyone else love watching him forecast the weather? I think he's brought the forecasts to life the past six months. I love his new late news sign-off that he's developed: "Sleep well; you deserve it!" Very Happy

Is it me or has Jo Blythe left Granada, not seen her for weeks now?.

Also when is Anne O Connor back?

I've been wondering the same thing. Fred has been doing practically every day the past few months. I recall Kerrie Gosney and some Central woman filling in occasionally, but by and large it has been Fred. It would be a shame if Jo has left, but I'm enjoying Fred's forecasts in her absence.

They've been talking about this on DS aswell, but apparently Jo hasn't been on since the end of July, so it's been pretty much all Fred. It's a shame if she has left Granada/ITV, but if she did have I guess it would have been reported somehow. As much as I like Fred's forecasts, it is nice to get the occassional normal forecast.

I've noticed Jo wearing a ring on her left ring finger since at least the start of the year, so I wonder if that has anything to do with her prolonged absence.

According to the forums on DS, someone has e-mailed Granada and got a message back from Richard Feliani (I can't spell his name properly, but he's head of Granada News) and apparently Jo's on sick leave and hopes to be back by the end of the year.

Does anyone know why for the past couple of months Granada Reports has been listed as "Granada Report" on the Freeview/Freesat/Sky EPGs? I wasn't aware they had dropped the 's'. I'm pretty sure the titles/stings haven't changed.

I don't know i have the same problem too, but we have Calendar News due to technical problems at the moment.

Ooh, we're getting Calendar News on ITV Granada at the moment. The newsreader welcomed viewers in the North West of England because of a "technical fault" in the area.

I guess the disadvantage of the Weather coming from Manchester is at times like this, we have to put up with Yorkshire Weather, at least Duncan joked about it, if you're coming to Yorkshire tomorrow Although I'm only used to seeing Granada News, it felt bizzaro world on Calendar News, not that I'm knocking it. Cool
