Granada Reports

I don't think it's going to be until the end of this year, probably more likely when Winter Hill switches to Digital only. I doubt that ITV would probably alter the titles. Slightly OT but the IoM is getting a lot of airtime on NWT at the moment, so I guess Granada will have to do the obligatory story here and there.

IoM is joining Granada on July the 20 something (I think)

Granada were about to opt out to the Granada News titles, after the main ITV News summary. You could just see the start of the titles, until it cut out to the weather.

Credit where its due- Granada are running excellent coverage on the terror raids. It shows that they can easily pull off the more fluffy bulletins that they usually do but when they need to, they can be serious and have gravitas. I don't think this bulletin would be anywhere near as effective if it was usually more serious.

Any special titles or graphics for tonights program?

Indeed - all of the images from the titles were replaced by a selection of Hillsborough-related ones, and the end slide read something along the lines of 'Hillsborough, 20 years on - a Granada Reports Special' (can't remember exactly what it said), split across two lines. Lucy and Tony presented from Anfield for the duration of the programme and all of the lower-third graphics were replaced by grey versions with the date of the disaster on the right. I haven't got any caps of the titles, though - sorry.

It was an excellent effort from Granada, though - especially given that they are no longer afforded any time for regional programmes, even at times such as this, and so have to include all of their coverage in their news bulletin.
