I caught the report and it was a nice send off, just mainly looking back at what was produced from there and the history of the building. There were before and after shots etc, though it looked like some of it came off a report that might have been filmed prior to the move back in April 1986, though they showed you the old Studio and control room and it did look rather 80's.
There were tons of clips of Richard Madeley too for some reason, though they had a quick look at This Morning, well only Trevor & Simon with Fred on the map, the streaker on the map, and some big music concert for ITV from 1986 that came Live from the Dock.
Though the end of the report was rather well done, they had the 1986 3D Alber Dock titles playing to a song with the main line being 'We Were the News...' Though Tony and Lucy were making out that it was all of Granada News that was moving, despite the fact presentation comes from Manchester. Though I look foward to seeing this New Newsroom in Liverpool when it is debuted on Monday, though I presume it's like the rest of the ITV News in that you cannot move for aload of Dell Computers...
My opinion on this though is that Granada Reports should come from Liverpool, if ITV are keen to redevelop Quay Street, wouldn't it be easier if they moved the News to Liverpool, as there was a decent Newsroom and Studio there.

Was in Liverpool and Albert Dock yesterday morning and saw the Granada TV building. Was trying to find where "This Morning" used to come from - anyone got any ideas which building on the Albert Dock? Saw a ITV Granada News van outside as well.

It is the top corner if you walk in from the Tate, as the Map has also been gone a few years now it doesn't feel like the same place. Originally the Studio was converted to a café, but I presume this has gone. I do visit Liverpool on occassions, and usually park on the Albert Dock as it is cheaper, but I don't tend to visit there, as it is rather overpriced, and I just don't find the Tate that interesting.

I noticed quite a few cafe's and empty building's on the Albert Dock! Yes I noticed there is no longer a map on the water either. It all looks the same in every direction you look so it was hard to find where This Morning used to be filmed. I went to Liverpool since I was in Manchester for the week, its only about 45 mins by train from there.

Thanks Helen - I had a bit of help getting all the archive together. I had so much in the end that I could have easilly done half an hour, but only TV Forumers would have still been watching by the end!
Re the This Morning studio, it was in the opposite corner of the dock to the Granada building. It was a furniture store of late but I think it's now empty.
