C4 News took the sensible decision to have Jon Snow in the lobby at the Palace of Westminster instead of at the Labour Party Conference this evening.

The satellite link with Jon in parliament and his guests was poor though. A long delay.

Yet more vox pops, that are all basically an identical set of opinions, every night, but just in different towns. Is there a town in the UK they haven’t asked yet?!

Hypothetical question: If the Government don't get a recess motion through for their conference, and it goes ahead (albeit without many big name MPs) while the House is sitting, could BBC Parliament have to cover the conference instead of the House to avoid undue prominence having covered the other parties' conferences live during the non-prorogation?

This is one of the problems with the rolling news culture we have now. Just think in 1989, Sky News were the first ones to offer rolling news, and to barely any viewers at all. BBC and ITV had much more news, but not overload like there is now with BBC and Sky.

I would expect to see conference coverage extended on BBC Two/News Channel and available in full on the website if this was the case.

Pretty sure they have to air Parliament coverage if it is sitting. It's been stated in the past as the reason for not using BBC Parliament for additional coverage of either the Olympics or Commonwealth Games when I think there was the prospect of Parliament being recalled.

Labour cut their conference by one day due to events.

The BBC News is turning into a comedy farce, people holding signs, not just in the background but practically 2cm behind Huw. God knows what Laura K just said as I doubt anyone took notice.

Of course, they could be hosting the programme from a nice studio rather than in the torrential rain in the dark, but there you go.

Wish that sad remainer bloke with the placard would do everyone a favour and go and get a proper job and contribute something useful to society.

He'd do us all a favour - as well as our TV screens.
