If so minded, I would place a bet on any election being next year.
Assuming there is an election, and studio space is limited, couldn't they use NBH Studio B, as they have done on other occasions before. Not ideal, but surely workable?
Just now Matthew Amroliwala started off the 1800 bulletin on World with a very long headline sequence, after that he mentioned “We’ll be joining the UK News Channel”, then fading to the titles of the Six at the NC... I’ve never came across this kind of junction but I’d assume they had to do it because the domestic channel had to do opt outs for regions...
World and NC doing their own headline sequences before joining up as a simulcast isn't unheard of. It's more often done with a location presenter doing the top headline, then the two studios doing the rest of their headlines, and joining up again at the titles. It's rarer that it's done in a studio.
The titles for the news special weren't particularly on brand. Coming from what is effectively the Politics Live set, but the backdrop is a sunset version which I haven't seen before.
I must question if now is the most appropriate time to be pushing their "We are Stoke" project. They've got 30 minutes to cover a massive story and they choose to dedicate 5 minutes on a segment with some inane vox-pops and an interview with a local radio reporter.

A vox pop from Beccy Wood on the NC to a man who called the PM Joris Bohnson went viral earlier from Stoke.
