BBC News: can’t comment. Did this breaking news occur during a slot produced by World?
No - but it was in the half-hour before the BBC One 10pm News bulletin, so going into rolling mode, on weekend staffing, could have jeopardised that bulletin I fear.
Nancy did break it in the programme about 21:17 and went back to it after sports

It's nice to see some journalists using knowledge of Parliament and procedure to make an informed comment. I just wish it happened a little more often and wasn't confined to Twitter.
As it stands, if Parliament prorogues tonight, the earliest possible dates for an election would be 18th November (without a Queen's Speech and six-day debate) or 25h November (with a Queen's Speech and six-day debate.)
It goes without saying that there are variations to this timetable (resignations, caretaker Prime Ministers, Governments of National Unity, intervention by the Courts or a recall of Parliament) but, if I had to worry about studio availability, I would think about next year instead.
I'll see you in a few days when I come back to eat humble pie...!
Parliament prorogued tonight. So no election until the end of November at earliest because election vote will fall tonight. No chance for another election vote until after queen’s speech on 14 October

Caretaker/Interim PM shouldn't be said so loosely by journalists. You are either PM or not.

Typically when Prorogation is a more planned affair, BBC Parliament set up camp in the Millbank studio with presenters, guests, and in-depth analysis of the hat doffing. I wonder if we'll be treated to the same this evening, given that the ceremony looks like it's been pushed back to pretty late in the day - or possibly even the early hours of tomorrow.

He doesn't have a sofa on his new show, just interviews.
Bercow could be the new Dianne Abbott on Andrew Neil’s sofa.

I don't think anyone would aspire to be the new Dianne Abbott. Even Dianne Abbott.
