Phew! I caught a bit of The Pledge on Thursday to see if it's improved. There's still too much cackling and I can't stand every panelist reading autocue badly to introduce each segment.

Sky has dropped the Pledge for coverage of Rudd's resignation

Propably too late now considering the first trailer for the new Series of The Apprentice aired immediately after Strictly this evening.
Wasn't The Apprentice moved to the autumn to avoid potential election issues. Could be a casualty of a snap election, though I'm not sure Alan Sugar knows which side he is on anymore.

BBC WNT covered it as soon as they had come out of their package, and again after the weather at 21:30 but have gone to the scheduled "Ouch! Storytelling Live from the Edinburgh Festival" now.
Amber Rudd's resigned but there's no domestic rolling news coverage - BBC NC is showing WNT, and Sky News has The Pledge.

Storytelling Live apparently. Can't believe the NC is currently showing filler.

What the hell is the BBC News channel showing? Comedy?
And no it's not Boris or Trump.

You can’t seriously expect the BBC News Channel to be showing news?
Talking about the NC, I found it a bit odd the other night where at 9pm we had a BBC News Special with Christian Fraser live from Westminster, but the opening titles used were still the Outside Source ones, when it was nothing of the sort.

Click, The Travel Show and Sportsday are much more important

Sportsday is fine as sports news is news. But they should cut it down in breaking news events. Everything else should be ditched.

Messrs Sarpong, Malone and Ferrari are all rather capable of reading the autocue. June especially.
)Does Amber Rudd want/expect/hope to be the next PM, I wonder........)
Back to the coverage: Sky News got it right, breaking away to show the Rudd coverage of what is a fairly significant event in the scheme of things.
BBC News: can’t comment. Did this breaking news occur during a slot produced by World?
