Who exactly are you calling a fool?

Grampian's death is a massive blow to Scottish broadcasting, if you didn't know! Not that you lot down south would care! English ITV companies are loaded with cash, so they wouldn't give a monkeys if a legendary name was going - as long as the profits were high!

Excuse me, JLF, but ''you lot down south'' includes me, kind of, I'm in the west, anyway, I think it's a massive loss, but, it makes it much easier for promotion, announcements, etc.

Was unable to vote on this - work commitments, I'm afraid, but my cross goes very firmly on Option 'B' (Grampian TV viewer - how does this late intervention skew the percentages?).

This whole rebranding exercise appears to be nothing less than a cynical attempt to soften-up viewers in anticipation of completely unacceptable 'ITV1' branding.

I can't belive they are doing this. What's Next, North TV or NTV, a merger of UTV and STV?

I think a merger between UTV and SMG companies would be good! Although I think both should keep there Regional Identities!

Anyway I think we should give the new STV a chance!

I've always wondered if a possible UTV/SMG (now STV yuk) merger (I wonder if they could get Channel on board) was just to make them collectively a better takeover target for ITV plc.

So sad about Grampian, imagine picking a name that is so associated with central Scotland. As if this takeover wasn't Glasgow centric enough (with all the control/programme making/ decent studios there) they can't even pick a neutral name to soften the blow. Honestly I'd prefer ITV 1 Scotland (or better ITV 1 North Scotland).
