I dont think GMTV is that bad. I prefer lighter news at that time of the day and my first choice is always GMTV when I have time to watch tv in the morning.

Besides it would be boring if BBC Breakfast and GMTV were the same - there would be no variety.

Seems like I'm one of the only ones going to agree with you, Jez. GMTV is fluffy and simple, which I also like in the mornings. BBC Breakfast is just too boring and sends me to sleep. I don't like Fiona though, but who does? Laughing

Im not keen on Fiona either. Im not a morning person, so the last thing I need is something to send me back to sleep Wink

No i agree as well. Could you imagine peoples reaction if we woke up tomorrow and GMTV was just rolling news about the Middle East. GMTV does not go indepth, and thats the way i like it in the morning.

Its light entertainment for me. Im just about to head of to clean the pub toilets, and its nice GMTV can put a smile on my face.

Switching to Hilton's release would have been ok on any channel PROVIDING that there was nothing of immediacy or import to show at the time. Bearing in mind that the best part of three villages were threatened with inundation and people had died over the past twenty four hours in the most excessive rainfall that this country had experienced 'in living memory'. This morning ALL channels that covered Hilton were wrong in my opinion.

Even though I hate most of the presenters, I am with you on that. Nobody wants to wake up to hard hitting news that could upset them for the whole day, but why not laugh at Paris Hilton being put in prison instead (I know she is out now though Sad )

The thing that really bothers me about GMTV is they seem to think that they are really professional when they are so obviously not. That stupid promo they have after the news advertising the pointless features on their crappy website like "how to clean your toilet with half a mop" and "share your views on the new cushion on the sofa". It's not just advertising a pointless thing, it's doing it badly. They use stupid music (I'm certain they think it's really dramatic), that stupid GMTV font and endless yellow and blue and "technological" designs that were in fashion in 1995. It is basically tabloid television, television for idiots, television that just doesn't give a sh!t. And I'm forced to watch it every weekday morning. Nice.

What do you expect from a company who had high and mighty ideas until they came to broadcast ... and then proceeded to become a pointless clone of TVAM as soon as they had their feet under the table.

It's not often I agree with L*xton, but quite honestly I think I'd rather watch the IBA testcard for 3 hours of a morning than that dreck.

As always though, this is a forum of mainly teens and twentys males watching a programme aimed mainly at middle aged women. No wonder people here don't like it

People obviously like to get annoyed every morning. Instead of watching another channel they watch a programme that they don't like and then rant about it every day. You should see the DigitalSpy forums on this subject, it's dejavu every day

I'm no fan of GMTV, but it is good at providing a light alternative.

I think they let themselves down by interpreting light as showbiz. They should cut back on the fluff and make it more relevant.

There is of course room for showbiz, but not in the bulletins.

Nice to see Fiona apologise this morning for the way they handled the Paris / Floods story.

GMTV ''claimed'' to have an interview with Barbara Streisand this morning - only for ''Barbara" to be Richard Mackney in a **** wig. This is getting ridiculous now.

Yeah it was pretty ****, wasn't it!

I'd prefer to watch BBC Breakfast, but it appeals to sad trekkie sister's mentality for some reason I find hard to fathom
