Yeh, they could make it a little more serious by having a more professional colour scheme and ditching the awful Kate Garraway from those bulletins.

I doubt Moira would go to GMTV. I mean come on, can you see her cracking a joke at the end the report?

I like GMTV News! I think it's unprofessionality and light-heartedness works at that time of day, Penny's good fun - and they can do serious very well when they need to.

She didn't do too bad on HIGNFY, in my opinion...

I've never understood why GMTV run their own news operation. Surely it would be cheaper to either use ITN or Sky (as TV-am did in their dying days).

They used to take alot from Reuters in the early days of GMTV. But I agree in this day and age now it makes sense to outsource the News to ITN, make a bit of familiarity to ITV after 24 years. If they can get CITV branding on GMTV, whey they can't they with ITV News? It makes sense considering the fact fewer people watch GMTV and that they make less money now.

Even if they did take ITN or Sky feeds though for overseas stories, methinks they would send their own reporter to a UK location.

Only this week BBC Breakfast had Alex Bushell reporting for Breakfast in Devon, when surely a BBC South West reporter could've done it.

There is a very sloppy use of people who are already "in the right place" with regards to both BBC & ITV News operations. Sorry that's abit off-topic.
