Surprised it's not Nick Ferrari doing that show given that 11pm New Years Eve 2020 has been a fixed point to the start of everything being better ect, judging by the amount of dribble and pro-propaganda that his show has churned out over the subject since June 2016..
I don’t get that. Is it costing them any less to have them do less updates? Surely they’re working the same amount of hours?
I suspect not, at least not substantially cheaper. I’d hazard a guess at it having more to do with repetitiveness; I know if I have it on in the car first thing my partner says is “travel again, they just did that two minutes ago”, a friend has also said the travel news is often pointless (short updates and outside of London it’s national).

To be fair, very little would change between each 10 minute bulletin, especially outside of peak travel times. I can't blame them for dropping the :10, :30, and :50 updates outside of peak times.
One thing that I have noticed over recent months is that sometimes, the start of each sequence might not begin until 2-3 minutes after it's scheduled, so I'm wondering if this is also a way to try and prevent that.
Six an hour is the same as they did back in the 90's on an earlier incarnation of LBC News, News Direct which had 'Travel on the Ones'. It was a bit too frequent then to be honest, they were very quick and fast paced, plus the person doing it barely had time to go to the loo or make a coffee between bulletins , let alone update the script for the next one!
Even with the reduction to three bulletins per hour, they'll still provide more travel news than BBC Radio London.
It's never been the same since they got rid of Twenty Twenty Travel from Bob at the Yard. The bulletins on Radio London always seem fairly long and comprehensive (a bit too long in my opinion), I suspect they probably do just as much as LBC, in fewer bulletins
