I don't mind James Dagwell; but I think that Mrs Slocombe-esque gag put him out of favour a little, at least where live-presenting is concerned, tends to be early morning on the News Channel. I guess he's happy compiling E24 anyway?
Agree with the earlier comments about Chris Ship. Think he's totally underrated as a newscaster, and much better than Tom Bradby at the political coverage too (in my opinion).
Loving Errol Barnett at the moment. Wonder if he'll be given a primary role at CNN soon?
Think he needs a bit more experience on weekends. Plus there are three far more experienced anchors on weekends who it would be very nice to see more off on weekdays
They have started using him for breaking news at weekends which is good - at the start of the year he was 'demoted' to twitter reaction reporting whenever there was a major weekend news story
Well I'd say it's a dead-cert that Matt Frei and Mishal Husain are going to be the next big things on BBC News, replacing George and Huw.
Also Clive Myrie is on his way up, he's presented quite a few weekend bulletins recently. More than likely everyone else currently on the news channel will be sidestepped by the likes of Matthew Price & Laura Kuenssberg.
Some presenters, such as Louise Minchin, Ellie Crissell, James Dagwell, Kasia Madera, all the BBC three 60s presenters and others, would be better suited to entertainment programming.
Gerraint Vincent is a great presenter and needs to be used more , as for rising stars I would say John Bevir of Itv Border , Sarah elliot who used to work for granada , Mark edwason on Nwt ,
