Because all honours are Orders of something - Order of the Garter, Order of the Thistle etc, so the O for Order is not required.

We all can't be MBE as we're not members of the Order, obviously!

What do they mean breakingnews? Well they awards given by this country to people who have done a great deal for it as a kind of thank you and to allow them to be recognised as people who have done something outstanding.

Any journalist who accepts an " honour " should be ashamed of themselves.
It's the modern equivalent of serfs knocking at the servant's entrance of the manor house looking for scraps from the master's table.
I wouldn't mind if George Alaghia had brought us some earth-shattering scoop from a dangerous war-torn country.
But he hasn't.
He's just an autocue reader and not even one of the BBC's best autocue readers.
But hang on a minute.

Now that is just uncalled for! George's race has nothing to do with that and frankly anyone who would suggests that 1 person who gets an OBE got it because of their 'colour' compared to the many others who got one because of talent should be completely ashamed. They're the markings of racism! Mad
