Just a thought - why is BBC2 Wales carrying the Dimbleby election programme (while BBC1 Wales does its own Election show)?

I can understand it in Scotland and Northern Ireland, but Wales has completed DSO, so the whole country can see Dimbleby on the News Channel.

Incidentally I see that BBC Parliament is showing BBC Scotland's Election programme tonight.

An intresting preview of the ITV election set on the EN , with Alastair live from the election studio and Mary from County Hall - the setup at County Hall looks quite good.

No, it's been moved until tomorrow.

Newsround had a brief item showing Jeremy Vine in the election studio. He was explaining a system called 'green screen' where the camera is told to replace everything green with some MPs that are inside a computer or something. I think that is right.

Looks like a very boring studio, if I'm honest. While it's true you should wait to see it on screen, the BBC's looked great even before seeing what shots it uses. Also, how comes Nick Clegg get's to smile and the other two don't?

It's quite retro - I think it's the dark background again which does it no favours - if they'd made it a view of Westminster or something, even though it would be dark it would give it that added depth.

ITV have Anne Widdecombe, John Reid and Paddy Ashdown on their panel tonight.

The studio looks somewhat better on screen - there was a preview on ITV's News at 6:30. Although a skyline in the background, a la News at Ten, would be a great improvement.

Does anyone know if the BBC HD Stream will have optimised graphics, or will the HD and SD feeds have exactly the same graphics

Almost certainly they'll be SD and in the 4:3 safe area too.

From today's Media Guardian, a few snapshots of ITV's election coverage (in case you haven't yet seen them):

I hope it won't feel too "enclosed", what with it being somewhat more intimate than the BBC's big effort, but it looks perfectly fine to me. Will tune in to both

one of the walls, this one the with the results I think, also turns into a window on to a vr house of commons - should give it some more depth.

Do we know where the C4 show is coming from - I'm assuming they'll have a studio audience? (Actually, in the ITV clips from either 1997 or 2001 they seemed to have a small studio audience!)

The Channel 4 show is coming from Television Centre.
The audience have been advised that the earliest they could be let out is well after the last tube from White City.
