From today's Media Guardian, a few snapshots of ITV's election coverage (in case you haven't yet seen them):

I hope it won't feel too "enclosed", what with it being somewhat more intimate than the BBC's big effort, but it looks perfectly fine to me. Will tune in to both tonight.

The full gallery here, featuring stills from BBC election coverage from over the years.

Interesting - personally I prefer the BBC's studio (let's not forget that with green screen they could have produced a virtual set more like the BBC's real one had they wanted to, even if it would have been hard/ expensive) but it does feel a bit too intimate.

Out of interest, does anyone have a cap of the 2008 US election set for ITV? I can vaguely remember it, but can't find it anywhere.

Looks like a very boring studio, if I'm honest. While it's true you should wait to see it on screen, the BBC's looked great even before seeing what shots it uses. Also, how comes Nick Clegg get's to smile and the other two don't?

I think it's fairly good - although obviously not as huge as the BBC - sometimes small is better! Laughing

On that, there are some images which I think will proberly be the opening titles - to me it looks like a little bit like the panels there've got normally , but with the black and party's colour's.

Also might sound a bit stupid, but will the projection on to St Stephen's Tower, of the exit poll/results be just for the BBC or will ITV & Sky be able to use it too?
Only on the BBC election website it says "the minutes after polls close on 6 May, the details of an exit poll conducted by NOP/Mori will be beamed onto Big Ben, under an agreement between the BBC, ITN and Sky News."
So does this mean that an agreement that the BBC can use the exit poll or an agreement that all broadcasters will be able to show it?

I feel a wee bit sorry for them looking at that. They really do look like the poor relation (which of course they are).

Ultimately its ITV's fault for imposing that ludicrous black and yellow scheme on them earlier in the year.

When you've got a great VR system and a large green studio, there's no need for it to look like a pokey wee black box.

Dull dull dull.

I would take that guide with a pinch of salt. The Lib Dems 10th targets seat, Aberdeen South, is stated as having the Conservatives as the incumbent party when it is actually held by Labour! I spotted this error immediately so can anyone spot any others?
