Have ITV tided up the exterior of the building and put some new ITV signs up especially for this?

Huw seems to be live from outside the old Granada Studios Tour entrance, which looked near derelict last time I past.

Definitely done in the last few weeks. The 'itv' logo at the tour entrance wasn't there when I drove past last- a few weeks ago. And Granada Reports sometimes show the inside entrance on some VTs (incidentally where Lucy is on Granada Reports tonight) and that had the old ITV logo on last time it was shown, iirc it was a feature with the entertainment reporter on Valentines day.

ITV have struck lucky with the sun being out- the studio looks disgusting usually but the sun makes it shine and look quite good.

Let's face it though - ITV could announce the end of the world and even though everything has collapsed around them, many people wouldn't believe it until the BBC confirm it for them.

My feelings exactly.

Didn't you make a similar Michael Jackson joke the other week Brekkie? No wonder your post count is so high, you repeat things more than Dave.

He's on a massive anti-BBC binge.

It'll be interesting if more people watch Sky's debate on the BBC News Channel than Sky News.

Has any media/political commentator criticised the idea of these debates? They are just a popularity contest.

Are the BBC actually showing the debate or have they just called the program that because they are monitoring the polls etc. during it?

If they are showing it live then that is ridiculous, it is Sky's debate not the BBC's. Im sure if this is the case it will be some kind of stupid ruling by Ofcom or a similar body complaining that Sky is not a national channel and cant be seen by everyone.

So there not aloud to report on it during its broadcast but they are allowed to show it!

They are allowed to show it. Sky will show the BBC's debate live the following week.

Well with reasoning like that let's scrap the licence fee tomorrow.

I don't want to start an argument in the wrong place here but I will just say that I think some of the license fee should be given to other broadcasters, the media world has changed so much since they introduced the license fee. The BBC make money in other areas especially overseas.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused. Which channels will be showing the debates?

Will tonight's ITV debate be just on ITV, and if so what will be the point of BBC News and Sky News being on air as everyone interested in news will be watching ITV.

Likewise Sky's debate next week, and the BBC's the week after.

Because ITV decided not to allow it to be shown on other TV channels at the time of broadcast (although it can be simulcast by any radio station) but it can be shown in full after 10pm if any channel wanted to.

Sky and the BBC decided to allow any channel to simulcast their debates.

I suspect that SKY allowed the BBC to simulcast to enable Freeview Lite viewers access to the debate otherwise it would not be available to them.
