First UK News Channel to Broadcast a Leaders’ Debate in HD
The 2010 election is likely to be the closest, most exciting in recent years and Sky News will be there every step of the way, taking viewers, listeners, mobile and web users right to the heart of the action with its multimedia coverage, as well as broadcasting the first Leaders’ Debate in HD on a UK news channel.
The Leaders’ Debates, championed by Sky News from the outset, will set this election apart from those of previous years, completely transforming the landscape of election campaign coverage.
John Ryley, Head of Sky News, said: “Sky News’ non-stop coverage; on air, online, on mobile, on radio and via social media, will give our customers the sharpest, information rich, picture-led service on offer.”

Does Brown go to back to his constituency for the election night?
Demotion for Jeremy and Burley I would have thought looking at Sky's election night coverage.

Hardly a demotion, more like a shake-up. Boulton has anchored it for many years, though it has to be said I find it odd that he won't have a co-anchor - Etchingham last time round.

It sounds as though it could be like the US election coverage which was anchored on location, so not a demotion as such as it means they'll still be presenting the main coverage.

Burley presented overnight in the verious marginal seats and then presented the next day from 9 am to 7 pm in 05. I think it's a slight demotion for her.

With an image from the era of red and black too. Strange.

Did anyone see Jeremy Vine on Daily Politics this afternoon. The set where he was looking at the polls was so fake that you could see the green reflection on his hands coming from the green screen. He was also constantly looking at the ground either to look at the monitor or to look at his positioning. The whole thing was completely hideous and hopefully wont be used for a while to come.

I know it's not very enterprising, but I think just a video wall works better than all this green-screen stuff. Or pehaps, Sky's large touch screen video wall, with some of the graphics applied in the foreground (like Sky's Business News).
Let's just pray he doesn't bring out anything like Ming's Bling or Calamity Clegg.
