I remember Colin Brazier's career at Sky wasn't so perfect a few years ago when he was caught in controversy from touching a victim's belongings from the sealed off crash site of MH17 in 2014. He did say that he regretted his actions by realizing that his reporting at that moment had crossed the line. I wonder if that type of sleazy journalism will be on show when GBN goes live in the UK?

I wondered how long it would take for someone to mention MH17 on here after it was revealed that Brazier had been signed up to GB News.
To provide some context: Colin Brazier was presenting live from an area close to the crash site in the aftermath of the incident. In one of the many live broadcasts he did from there, he touched a water bottle and a set of keys from inside an open suitcase which had fallen to the ground in the incident. Within less than ten seconds of touching the first item, he had stepped away from the case, even adding 'we shouldn't really be doing this, I suppose' before continuing the coverage and subsequently apologising.
I'm not saying this was good practice or bad practice. You could argue that it was completely insensitive to touch any of the victims' belongings in any circumstance, or you could argue that it was one very short, fleeting moment, designed to emphasise the impact the crash had on real people's lives, but whichever side of that argument you come down on, I think bringing this seconds-long 'incident' up seven years later to further an anti-GB News agenda (before it's even aired a single second of content) is really scraping the barrel.
Wait until GB News actually begins broadcasting. If you like what they do, watch it. If you don't, don't watch it, and let those who
do
like it enjoy it. This constant negativity and derision over something which hasn't even begun yet is just exhausting and maddening.

don't get all the defensiveness? GB News itself has fuelled that "silly speculation" - deliberately.
Its chairman and highest profile frontman wrote a column for the Express just recently attacking "woke warriors", he chairs the Spectator. It's positioned itself as speaking for the 'underserved' 'outside of London' (i somehow don't think they mean minority communities, but happy to be proved wrong).
It's first high profile signing was an ex-Sun columnist from talkradio - his confected standpoint on many issues is there, on the record.
Nothing wrong with any of this of course but no use pretending otherwise.
