Sort of related but 5 Live now is calling itself the "Voice of the UK".

The GB logo on Wikipedia is different to the letterhead one:

It's still awful.

Are we safe to assume that it will be broadcast in HD? Would that mean 2 slots on the Sky EPG?

The one with the symbol was filed afterwards, perhaps they decided against spelling out news?

It's true that GB News will launch with a duty to be impartial, but wasn't there some talk among the government of that requirement being scrapped? That does pave the way for a more Fox News style setup.

I'm intrigued to see what this channel will look like on air. Some of the talk radio stations like Times Radio actually have a decent-looking set up without an enormous budget. Even the BBC could learn a lot from that.

How much of a stake do Discovery have in it and are they willing to show their hand publicly by including it on Discovery+?

Discovery News would be a much better less controversial brand - but they know that.

GB News is only a controversial brand to a small but loud group on this forum, and to a similar group on Twitter.

Hopefully with each legitimate hire, we can drop the pretence that the network is going to be some sort of far-right echo chamber, when the evidence we have so far is to the contrary.

Do they let Northern Irish on the Great British Bake Off or Britain's Got Talent?

I think with just 'Britain' it's different as it is an alternative name to the UK. But 'Great Britain' it refers to the Island with most of England, Wales and Scotland. So GMB reffers to the whole UK but GBN is talking about just England, Scotland and Wales.

I'm sure I've heard someone say that the 'Great British Bake Off' is the 'greatest' bake off in Britain rather than the bake off for the island of Great Britain.
