LOL. I am glad someone started this thread, because I also had some comments on the situation but honestly didn't know where to post it. I stayed in a hotel last night on a business trip and - of course - opportunities arose for a self-confessed news junkie to channel surf across all the available outlets. This is broadly how it went:
BBC WORLD - Madrid air crash, Pakistan suicide bomb, Condoleezza in Baghdad, Fed Chairman to address EU summit, Oil price, etc.....
CNNI - ditto
Euronews - ditto
Orbit News - ditto
Al Jazeera English - ditto
Al Jazeera Arabic - ditto, except led with Iraq.
France 24 - Spain air crash, Iraq, Pakistan
Sky News - Gary Glitter, Spain Air Crash, Gary Glitter, Gary Glitter........
I did find Sky's minute-by minute coverage quite laughable this morning, including live footage of the plane coming into land... which looks pretty much like any plane coming into land.
I noticed they also flashed up the Breaking News strap, 'Glitter Back in Britain' before the plane had even landed. The least they could have done was to wait until it had touched down.
And if you want to be really picky, technically he's not actually in the country until he's cleared immigration.

Does this not remind you of Summer 2007, at East Midlands Airport?

Similar, but this IS more legitimate. Especially since the Home Sec waded into it. Sky's live helicopter aerials of Uxbridge Magistrates Court felt overkill- especially as GG never eventually turned up.
