We're having our moment in the spotlight today over here in 'Norn Iron' . . .

BBC News being presented by Jane Hill at the Lough Erne Resort for the G8, and Annita McVeigh at Belfast's Waterfront Hall this morning for the Obama visit. Also Norman Smith is apparently reporting from 'Enniskillen' - I think he's actually at the G8 Media Centre which is at a hotel just outside Enniskillen.

Sky News has Adam Boulton reporting from Lough Erne - coverage being anchored from London. Tim Marshall also reporting from Enniskillen.

Locally, BBC One NI has had a News Special running from 08:30, with extended bulletins at 13:30, 18:30 and 22:25.

UTV has a news special from 09:25, with an extended UTV Live Tonight at 22:30.

7pm both domestic and BBC World News took coverage from John Sopel on Loch Erne however it was clearly World News's gallery that was in charge as the Live bug kept flicking up the 'Local Time' even on the News Channel. RTÉ Six One was anchored in Dublin, however there are quite a few correspondents in the Enniskillen area including the usual 9 o'Clock anchor Eileen Dunne who interviewed the Taoiseach (Irish PM) on the program. Likely though that she'll be back in Dublin or someone else will lead the 9 in Dublin.

From an NI perspective, I've so far seen last night's UTV Live Tonight special and this evening's extended BBC Newsline. So far, both teams have done a great job as expected.

For some reason, Virgin Media's TV guide suggested Noel Thompson was hosting the Newsline special!

As it happened she did indeed do the Nine on location in Enniskillen, albeit with Aengus Mac Grianna on hand in Dublin for "the rest of today's news".

You'll also see that it was branded BBC News NI rather than BBC Newsline... even with a different dog

Finally catching up with UTV Live's footage.

And cringing at Marc and Jar-Jar's "analysis" of social media surrounding the conference.

For me, the BBC nailed it - slicker, friendlier and less patronising than the HH efforts.
