Hi - Just wondered if anyone had covered the G20 before. Is it a nightmare to work on with security etc. I noticed from the G20 website that there is limited stand-up positions with limited access. Just wondered how broadcasters plan for events like this? German broadcasters are providing a world feed (host broadcaster) based on the "Berlin model" any ideas what the Berlin model is?

Nobody ended up knowing what this was then? I tried looking it up myself but it was impossible. I've never heard this term before.

I'm not sure if it's official but whenever "Berlin model" is written the releases closely mention that it is free of charge and copyright free.

German's G20 media website from 2015 mentions the "Berlin Model". For the G7 Meetings of that year they go a bit further on describing the model:
Quote:
The photocalls during the G7 Summit will be covered exclusively by means of the live TV broadcasting technology and staff of the Berlin model responsible for compiling the world feed in the security areas. No other TV broadcasting technology will be permitted.

Edit : If you look at this years accreditation website they have a contact person for the "Berlin model". The contact person is from NDR Television. If I had to guess the "Berlin Model" is what the consortium of national broadcasters producing the host and world feed call themselves.
