This is happening a bit too often to be funny any more. It seems you can't go a few days without some wee ned (chav for viewers down south) thinking it's funny to screw up a live broadcast, and often put lives in danger. On some occasions it can be quite funny (the Scottish TV example of some nutcase shouting "Paisley Sheriff Court's full of dafties" in response to "the man will appear at Paisley Sheriff Court tomorrow" being an example). But is it now impossible for reporters to do live two-ways from the scene without some idiot causing problems?
As always, I don't have an answer - perhaps the ITV companies need to employ adequate staff to ensure the security of their reporters, but I suspect the budget of your average region doesn't extend to a new stapler.
