France 3 has now stopped its electoin show to broadcast a 1950s version of Zero.. I know French telly was bad but not that bad..

Zorro was used as filler.

Watching TF1's coverage of guests entering the building earlier, it appears that they're actually using the main reception area for their coverage.

TF1 seems to have gone to a bit more effort than in the past. I think the last couple of elections just came from their normal news studio.

I wouldn't say there are any real presentation triumphs tonight, though. France 2 and France 3 have both had better sets in the past. C News looks quite nice, but it's basically just their regular set, complete with the old I-Tele triangles.

Franceinfo. Worth watching for the live from the France 2 election studio around 6 minutes in.

France 3's is the normal studio relit. They also used France 2's titles.

The TF1 set is good but the on screen graphics are really lacking. Not helpful for viewers dipping in and out.

All of France 24's resources are on their French language channel. When I watched F24 earlier, they had an English presenter sounding bored and also had sport in the running order.

As for TF1, a decent effort let down by poor graphics. Even their standard news graphics would be better than they're using. I hope they adapt them for the 2nd round in two weeks time.

It's not impossible. In 2002, they had a terrible set for the first round, covered in metal grilles. It got some bad reviews, so they made quite a few changes in time for the second round.

I found it a bit strange none of the channels have the same end result, some putting Marcron on top, while others have Le Pen on top. When do we expect to see who won each local area in France?

I'd say the best pres was France 2 this evening, followed by BFMTV. Franceinfo really punched above their weight with their own take on the election from their newsroom/studio. This despite all of the resources going on France 2's show in the same building.

If a British broadcaster offered the Franceinfo format, I'd be tempted to watch that instead of Dimbleby in June.
