Frank Gardner the correspondent who got shot in Saudi Arabia investigating Al-Qaeda (background in this webpage news.bbc.co.uk ) was featured this afternoon on News24 this afternoon in a documentary showing a trip in which in addition to news reporting, despite his injuries he took part in diving and desert kart racing in Egypt.

It was a very enlightening programme.

i greatly admire this man - i've seen him interviewed several times and he's an absolute inspiration, i saw the trailer for the diving but missed the actual programme but hope it's repeated sometime. Nice one Frank - life's for living and despite everything you've been thru are forging on with life with true courage.

Oh do shut up.
I watched this half an hour mini-documentary last night, and it was very moving. It showed another side to him. He truly is an inspiration.

I have corrected Frank's surname - apologies - The thread was started in a hurry. I have enormous admiration for the man and was pleased to see that the documentary was repeated over the Christmas period.
