Wow loved the titles at 2200CET different and classy. The topic circles an excellent idea.

Not sure how I feel about the format just yet. It's just so different with the tie-in to radio, the walk-and-talk presentation, and what appears to be a lot more "discussion" so far rather than just running package after package. Maybe I'm just a big France 24 fan, but I still somewhat wish they had just invested in France 24 instead to make it a more viable domestic news channel competitor.

As for the graphics, it feels like a cross between the Euronews 2008 look and if Vueling Airlines operated a news channel.

Edit: Oh and I remember reading on here (but didn't see anywhere else) that Franceinfo will be simulcast on France24 in the overnight hours. Is this true? As of midnight CET, France 24 is running their normal news block.

Looks as if Info will be broadcasting France24 Overnight. 0030 CEST and France24 is now on Info.

Ah, that makes more sense — the upstart channel simulcasts the more established one. I always thought France 24's overnight programming was pretty solid (even if much of it is taped), and it runs in the afternoon here, so I would have hated to lose it.

The stream on YouTube isn't deinterlaced. Really shows on the France 24 Francais simulcast.

Incidentally, Le Debat is presented by former BBC Parliament (and F24 English) presenter Melissa Bell this evening.

Not sure I like the clock top left, stranded and isolated from the bottom lower third straps.

Better to have it on the same line next to the FranceInfo grey channel name bar

From that BTS video on the last page it looks like they are doing a London Live and using SLRs for some reports and packages?

I really like the subtitle-esque captions that come up at key points during packages. They seem to really get the fact that news channels are often on in places where the sound's turned off.

The Radio France presenter today has a tablet to control the screen to her side during the headlines.

Not sure if this is deliberate during France 2's main lunchtime bulletin, but Franceinfo is mainly pre-recorded padded filler between the headlines.

The live stream is now just showing a clock counting down to what appears to be 8pm CET. I can't find any kind of schedule on the website, so no idea what's going on!

Brilliant Jean Michel Jarre type soundtrack though.
