This is awful news and my thoughts are with all those affected right now.

A shame that ITV News went off air, isn't there some requirement about the football being aired (completely?) before midnight?

Either way an excellent programme, anchored superbly by Julie. I originally had BBC News on in the background and it seemed very pedestrian in comparison.

Usually though as they push News at Ten back it doesn't begin till 10.55pm so it could have been pushed 10-15 minutes, and if necessary the regional news dropped too (they didn't mind dropping it for the rugby). I think even the FA would understand too if they were pre-empted due to the events today.

Just rewound on iPlayer - Later with Jools Holland was interrupted with a very quick fade out and announcement into the BBC News simulcast.

BBC Two crashed out halfway through a song to hand over to "BBC News" coverage.

I wouldn't be surprised to see BBC One / BBC Two swap over at midnight.

Martine doing well, but this should be two-headed.

Surely the normal World presenter is ready to go? Why don't they just join Martine?

I would assume World will take over from C in due course. Do we know who's on duty tonight?

Edit, BBC News and Lucy Williamson now live on the ground.

Bit odd that they finished Newsnight, ran the arts show, started Jools Holland, and then decided to go to rolling news part was through. Would have thought they would have made the switch after Newsnight.

On the other hand it's debatable if running it on BBC2 is worth it at all as not many will be passing by that channel at this time of the evening.
