Black armbands are back on French TV channels. Here's a quick run through the channels.

World taking the Six, complete with the trail for Sport during the headline sequence, surely that won't actually go out on either channel?

ARD had a Skype-type link to a German journalist in Nice shortly after the news broke:

Same journalist was interviewed is the eyewitness in Lucy Williamson's report which featured on the One, and now the Six (perhaps the NC in between too). He presents the late late news bulletin on BR (Bayerische Rundfunk, the Bavarian "channel 3" of German TV).

Clive had a journalist filming with a selfie stick behind him for the 6 open - oops...

TF1's newsflash on Thursday. A simulcast with LCI.

Notice the unsuitable for under 12's age graphic bottom right corner at the start of the TF1/LCI news report.

Better way of doing it rather than the presenter having to look all concerned, lower voice, and inform that "some viewers may find pictures upsetting".

Isn't that just a hangover from whatever it was they interrupted? French TV normally leaves images like that on screen throughout the programme.

Is that the normal now for TF1 to use their news channel? I guess it makes sense. I did wonder with it being a public holiday in France if that had any effect on initial coverage.

Yes, it was from the film Final Destination 5 which was interrupted.

The very start of that TF1 flash sting is a tad upbeat, like when that cuts in something exciting is about to happen.

Is TF1 basically like our ITV?

Indeed it is. Like ITV they have strands of reality formats, such as The Voice and the French version of Strictly. They also have Ninja Warrior. TF1 is currently France's most watched channel.

Yes, and very broadly the equivalents to BBC 1 and 2 are FR2 and FR3
