Andrea Sanke didn't stay with CNNI all that long. Maybe she became surplus to requirements at CNN London and had to find another job.

That is the weirdest news desk I've ever seen. That said, being different can be great.

The channel has made some sort of soft launch online. I'm liking it so far!

Yeah. They've gone for simplicity but do things a bit differently, like when the news reader finishes introducing a piece, to camera shot of her will change the a wide shot before going to the piece. Never seen that before, but I like it.
Graphics are smart and simple.
Weather is almost totally unwatchable. The graphics are useless and moves far too quickly.
Overall, it's very, very French in style. They even have the quick musical sting into and out of ad breaks with "Advertising" on screen,

So do Euronews with the Publicitie stings, and most german channels have a "Werbung" sting.
It's now been added to EPG channel 515.

Horrible. I absolutely hate it. The channel so far (and fair enough I know it's only soft launched) is dull, dull, dull. The set looks like it was thought up in five minutes. That desk is horrendous!! Some of the presenters are extremely wooden and there's a MAJOR flaw. If they ever have to do breaking news will the presenter be happy standing up four hours on end? Sometimes a newsreader needs a seat!

The promo's gone from drab to FAB - I like some of the graphics used in it. I also like the smart desk but agree about a chair!
I don't have sky, so can anyone get caps of on-screen/in studio graphics?

Hey, this is pretty good stuff!
I must admit, I possibly have more of an interest in France than many others, having lived there in the past - but even so, I like what they're doing. So far they're holding true to the slightly more arty French production values, which makes a nice change - and I'm glad to see they're going with 10-minute bitesize bulletins, which is what their domestic news channels do.
From what I've seen from flicking between the French and the English, the running order is identical - with only the presentation being different. I reckon this is a good thing, as everyone's getting the same information no matter which channel they're watching,
Some very promising signs of things to come on their website in that Brussels Journal link above. Sounds like they're going to make the site very interactive, like the Guardian's Comment Is Free. The live streams are great quality, which is fantastic to see - an area in which I felt Al Jazeera English was a big let-down.
